ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking outstanding educators to inspire and mentor the next generation of Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology students. This is a permanent full-time opportunity based at Glendale Campus.
As a TAFE NSW Teacher, your role is to guide and enhance the learning process. You will be passionate and motivated to share your extensive industry experience, and you will have proven experience in delivering training in an adult learning environment.     This is a child-related position. A Working with Children Check is a prerequisite for anyone in child-related work. It involves a national criminal history check and review of findings of workplace misconduct.
    To be eligible for positions at TAFE NSW, you need to be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand passport.
    An eligibility list, valid for 18 months, may be created for this position, and position(s) of the same classification that subsequently becomes vacant, may be filled via this recruitment.

To be successful in the role you will:

  • Have appropriate subject knowledge, skills and hold a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (desirable to have been obtained through an apprenticeship process).
  • Have a minimum of 5 (five) years post-qualification experience, part of which has been gained in the last 3 (three) years.
  • Hold a Fair-Trading NSW tradesperson certificate (license) in the class of “Motor Mechanic” OR if applying from Interstate only, applicants must be Eligible to obtain a Fair-Trading NSW Tradesperson certificate.
  • Evidence of holding the appropriate teaching qualifications to deliver Vocational Education and Training. See the candidate support document (here) for details
  • Be prepared to continue to develop their Vocational Education and Training (VET) knowledge and skills as well as their industry currency and trainer/assessor competence
