QUALIFICATIONS

-Bachelor’s degree in Math, Science, Education, or a related field
-Valid teaching license or certification in math and/or science (Preferred but not required)
-Experience teaching math and/or science (Preferred but not required)
-Ability to maintain order and decorum in a classroom environment
-Ability to collaborate effectively with other teachers and staff to enhance student learning
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-Experience with technology integration in the classroom is a plus

ROLE DESCRIPTION

This is a full-time on-site role for a Math/Science Generalist at The Connect Charter School located in Pueblo, CO. As a generalist, you will be responsible for teaching a variety of classes to students at mixed grade levels. The vast majority of lesson planning has been created for you! You will be required to collaborate and prepare. We have a laboratory tech to help with lab preparation. Your assignment includes assessing student progress and providing feedback, and participating in professional development activities. Classes to be taught: Algebra, Reading, Connections (homeroom), Science (topics include Astronomy, Biology, and Physics overviews), and Exhibitions (17-week structured historical research program).

RESPONSIBILITIES

-Ensure student safety and wellbeing through strong classroom management.
-Implement engaging math and science curriculum for courses taught.
- Utilize teaching expertise to deliver high-quality instruction in mathematics and scientific research.
- Incorporate innovative teaching methods and technology.
- Conduct scientific research and laboratory experiments to enhance student learning experiences.
- Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve teaching practices and educational outcomes.
- Stay current with advancements in math, science, and educational best practices to provide students with a dynamic learning environment.
