3. STUDENT SUPPORT AND MENTORING

  • Academic Advising: Assist students with academic planning and advice.
  • Mentorship: Provide mentorship and career guidance to students, especially those pursuing research or higher education.
  • Office Hours: Be available for student queries and additional academic support outside of class.
Responsibilities

TEACHING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver Lectures and Tutorials: Teach undergraduate and postgraduate mathematics courses, which may include calculus, algebra, statistics, discrete math, differential equations, etc.
  • Curriculum Development: Design, update, and improve course materials, syllabi, and assessments in line with current academic and industry standards.
  • Assessment and Grading: Create and mark exams, assignments, and projects; provide feedback to students.
  • Supervise Student Projects: Guide final-year projects, independent studies, or theses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

2. RESEARCH RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct Original Research: Develop and pursue research in a specialized area of mathematics (e.g., pure math, applied math, mathematical modeling).
  • Publish Research: Write and publish articles in peer-reviewed academic journals.
  • Apply for Funding: Seek external or internal funding for research projects (e.g., from research councils or grants).
  • Collaborate: Work with colleagues, research groups, or external institutions on joint projects.

4. ADMINISTRATIVE AND DEPARTMENTAL DUTIES

  • Committee Participation: Serve on university or departmental committees (e.g., curriculum development, admissions, hiring).
  • Program Development: Help in the design and evaluation of degree programs.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in academic audits, reviews, and accreditation processes.
