About Scholars

Scholars is looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and dedicated Maths & Science Teacher to join our team. As a teacher, you will provide individualized academic support to students while helping them build confidence, develop strong learning habits, and achieve their academic goals.

You will be joining a dynamic team that is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of every student we have the opportunity to work with.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized Maths & Science instruction tailored to each student’s learning style, strengths, areas for improvement, and academic goals.
• Keep students engaged, motivated, and on-task throughout each lesson.
• Monitor and communicate student progress, work completion, work habits, behaviour, and attitude.
• Review curriculum expectations and student assignments in advance of each lesson to ensure effective preparation.
• Prepare teaching materials and supplemental resources when required.
• Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to help students build confidence and independence.
• Collaborate with other tutors and Centre staff to support student success.
• Attend staff workshops and meetings as required.
• Complete administrative and other duties as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) preferred; flexibility may be available at the discretion of the Centre Director.
• Strong Maths & Science academic skills and an educational background.
• Previous teaching or tutoring experience, preferably with students in an academic setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to manage and engage multiple students while keeping them focused and on-task.
• Patient, enthusiastic, encouraging, and student-focused approach.
• Professionalism, reliability, and a genuine interest in helping students succeed.
