PREREQUISTES

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy, or a closely related field.
  • Proven ability to teach RE and Philosophy to a high standard at KS3 and KS4.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and inspiring Teacher of Religious Education and Philosophy to join our dedicated Humanities faculty in a well-regarded secondary school in Norwich. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to make a significant contribution to a thriving department, delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
You will be responsible for delivering a high-quality Religious Education and Philosophy curriculum that encourages students to explore ethical, philosophical, and theological questions, develop critical thinking, and appreciate diverse worldviews.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in Religious Education and Philosophy in line with the school’s curriculum and national guidelines.
  • Teach across Key Stages 3–5, including preparation for GCSE and A-Level exams.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes a love of learning and respect for all beliefs and perspectives.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students in line with departmental and school policies.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the RE and Philosophy curriculum.
  • Provide timely feedback and support to students, helping them to achieve their potential.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings, and whole-school training events.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure a cohesive approach to teaching and learning.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and discipline in line with school policy.
  • Uphold the school’s ethos and commitment to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and intellectually curious learning community.
