ABOUT THE SCHOOL - MEONCROSS
A child’s educational journey should be as unique as they are. We pride ourselves on our holistic approach whereby every child has the individual attention they need to thrive and succeed both in and out of the classroom. At Meoncross, every child is safe to say ‘I can be the best possible ME’.
We are very proud to be a through school for children aged 2.5 - 16 years, meaning we can welcome children into our school at any point in their educational journey. This could be at a natural key stage transition point such as starting ‘big school’ in Reception, Juniors in Year 3, or Upper School in Year 7, or anything in between.
Academic achievement is high, but so is our focus on wellbeing, as we know that happy children are high achieving children. We nurture our pupils and develop the characteristics and qualities we know they will need to build bright futures.
The school now has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Teacher of Science (KS3 & KS4) to join our fantastic team.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
You are an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Teacher with a passion for practical, engaging teaching. You hold QTS and a good honours degree, and you’re confident using data to inform progress. You’re a clear communicator who works well in a team and values high standards of professionalism and pastoral care. You’re flexible, organised, and ready to contribute beyond the classroom—including clubs and school events. With a commitment to safeguarding and a genuine interest in students’ development, you’ll bring energy, creativity, and dedication to our dynamic school community.
As a Teacher of Science, you will inspire and challenge students across Years 7–11, with the possibility of teaching Years 5 and 6. You’ll deliver engaging, hands-on lessons that combine practical experiments with strong theoretical foundations. You will plan collaboratively, set ambitious learning targets, and create a purposeful classroom environment that promotes curiosity and achievement. You’ll monitor progress, provide detailed feedback, and maintain strong communication with parents. In addition to your teaching duties, you’ll contribute to the pastoral life of the school, possibly serving as a form tutor, and support the wider aims of the department and school through extracurricular activities and departmental development.
