At Birkenhead Sixth Form College, we’re passionate about teaching and creating a positive, progressive environment for both our students and staff.
We seek to appoint a dedicated and outstanding teacher to join our Sport Team. This is a permanent position on a part time basis with a 0.75 fraction over 5 days. The Sport department is a popular and successful department offering qualifications at both A Level and BTEC. Over 160 students study a Sport related course at the college and there are two full time teachers in the team. Due to the growth in student numbers there is a likelihood for this role to become full time in the future.
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for P.E. and be able to teach both A Level P.E.(AQA) and BTEC Applied Sport (Pearson).
The successful candidate will have the ability to inspire students both inside and outside the classroom, maximising their performance in both exam and practical elements of the course. They will also deliver highly effective lessons, utilising techniques and practices that are evidence based and engage learners. There will be exciting opportunities to contribute to our extensive enrichment programme and support student participation in Sport. The department has use of a newly extended Multi Gym and a Sports Hall for practical elements of the course.
