BACHELOR’S OR MASTER’S DEGREE IN EDUCATION, SPECIAL EDUCATION, OR VISUAL IMPAIRMENTS, ACTIVE TEACHER OF THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED CERTIFICATION AND 1+ YEARS TEACHER OF THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. APPLICANTS WHO DO NOT MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

A part-time position is available for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support K-12 students in a school located in Saint Charles, MO. This contract role spans the current school year and focuses on delivering specialized instruction and support to visually impaired students, helping them achieve their academic and developmental goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the visual needs of students and develop tailored instructional plans.
  • Provide direct instruction in academic subjects through adaptive techniques and materials.
  • Train students in the use of assistive technologies and tools to facilitate learning.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to create an inclusive educational environment.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to optimize learning outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.
  • Experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments.
  • Strong knowledge of adaptive teaching strategies, assistive technology, and vision-related learning challenges.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an educational team.
