JOB POSTING – TEACHER, POWER OF WORDS ACADEMY NORTH YORK CAMPUS

Power of Words Academy offers an after-school enrichment academic program for students in grades 2 to 8. Classes are held once a week from September to June with 90 minutes of in-class instruction. Our mission is to enrich students with skill sets to empower them to be effective, persuasive and confident writers and public speakers. Our teachers provide a nurturing environment, developing effective writing skills and confidence in public speaking in students and build strong relations with parents. Specifically, teachers are responsible for:

• Effectively managing the classroom to maintain a safe and inspiring learning environment
• Deliver lessons to students
• Grade student homework, assignments and tests
• Building and maintaining relationships with parents
• Drafting report cards
• Managing teaching assistant in class
• Attend training and meetings as required
