Parkland School Division (PSD) is a large progressive school jurisdiction serving Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Fort Chipewyan and Parkland County. The Parkland School Division currently has a Probationary/Continuing Full-time (1.0 FTE) teaching position at High Park School, in Stony Plain, Alberta. The successful applicant will teach Physical Education in students in Grades 5-9, assuming the Athletic Director role organizing sporting events such as Track and Field Days, coordinating school sports teams, contributing to the Parkland County Athletic Association, as well as teaching CTF courses. Experience in industrial arts or construction and building skills would be valuable.
You will be responsible for:
COMMUNITY LIVING AND VOCATIONAL SKILLS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
a) Education:
i) Bachelor of Education Degree
ii) Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
iii) Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, First Aid and Mental Health First Aid would be an asset.
b) Experience:
i) Experience teaching Middle Years students and education in Physical Education or CTF
ii) Differentiating instruction experience is an asset
Equivalencies will be considered.
