TEACHER specialist FOR NON-PUBLIC SCHOOL PLACEMENTS Central Office To facilitate and support non-public school placements. * This is an 11-month Teacher Specialist position which requires 20 additional duty days beyond the identified 190 teacher calendar days. * Teacher Specialists are required to work one additional hour per day beyond the teacher schedule. * Position is eligible for the Teacher Specialist stipend.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND  RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE   These items are intended only as examples of the various types of job duties to be performed; specific position assignments will vary depending on the needs of the department.  The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is a similar, related, or logical assignment to the position.   * Provides consultation and technical assistance to non-public schools regarding Harford County students. * Assists in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEP). * Case manages students in non-public and state approved school placements in and out-of-state. * Facilitates programs and services for non-public school students. * Analyzes data to support compliance and programming in non-public schools. * Works collaboratively with HCPS special education coordinators and specialists and with the staff of non-public institutions. * Coordinates and prepares documents relative to all areas of non-public school placements. * Works collaboratively with the Department of Special Education staff. * Participates as an active member of CIEP teams and the Local Care Team (LCT).  * Supports case management, during summer months, for students enrolled in non-public school placements. * Performs other work-related duties as assigned by the Department of Special Education.     SALARY     * This is an eleven-month position. Salary range based on the FY 2025-2026 HCEA Salary Schedule for Certificated Teacher Personnel.
