Sturgeon Public Schools is currently recruiting a Full-Time Temporary English, Psychology, and Learning Strategies Teacher for Sturgeon Composite High School.
One of the largest rural high schools in Alberta, Sturgeon Composite High School is located just minutes north of Edmonton and St. Albert. Serving approximately 950 students in Grades 10–12, the school offers a wide range of programming — from academics and arts to Career and Technology Studies, Knowledge & Employability (K&E), and Special Education classes. With a welcoming atmosphere and strong community connections, SCHS is committed to helping students succeed through engaging programs and enriching activities.

Responsibilities
  • Teach engaging and challenging courses in English 10-4 & 30-4, Psychology, and Learning Strategies 15
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop creative and effective instructional approaches
  • Foster critical thinking, literacy, and academic skills across subject areas
  • Build strong relationships with students to support both academic and personal growth
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and supported

What You Bring

  • Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
  • Experience teaching English Language Arts and Psychology at the high school level
  • Knowledge of Learning Strategies programs and approaches for supporting diverse learners
  • Understanding of strategies that foster student engagement and success
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
