To ensure that a high-quality early learning environment is offered to all children and families enrolled at the Balga Early Learning Centre. This position will lead the kindy room team and oversee the room curriculum, provide mentoring and daily operations support to the kindy team.

Child Supervision and Education

  • Must maintain at all times strong supervision of children across all rooms and age groups, ensuring room ratios are correct and in line with industry best practice.
  • Provide and create a curriculum of educational learning for the kindy children that is based on the Early Years Learning Framework. Providing a learning environment which is safe and where the activities are appropriate and engaging.
  • Ensure the standard of learning and care, provided to children (and families) is of an excellent standard leading to a high level of satisfaction.
  • Ensure that curriculums are embedded with ‘Early Years Learning Framework’ principles and practices; providing clear evidence of kindy learning in an open and transparent environment.
  • Must oversee and ensure, the completion (and compliance) children’s planning, learning and evaluation documentation is in line with regulatory bodies and industry best practice.

Room Leader & Mentoring

  • Mentor and guide inexperienced staff / educators, to meet the required standard of behaviour and conduct consistent with a Level 1 in the Capability Framework.
  • In collaboration with the ELC Director, ensure that the professional practices of the ELC are of a high standard.
  • Promote, foster and encourage staff to operate in line with ACECQA National Quality Standards.
  • In collaboration with ELC Director, attend professional and development training and workshops relevant to the position.
  • Must foster a positive and collaborative team environment by contributing to staff meetings.
  • Ensure practice of self is always in line with TSA Work, Health & Safety.
