Responsibilities
  • Responsible for overseeing program development, delivery, marketing, staff training and evaluation of new and existing education programs. This role, dependent on location, develops and administers student assessments and achievement reports.
  • Delivers education programs at TRCA education centres, schools across GTA, and virtually where required.
  • Acts as a point person for a specific portfolio, programs, events or sites including but not limited to oversight of a framework and method for evaluating the programs, events, or projects, related budgets (as applicable), staff scheduling, event coordination, supplies and materials.
  • Plans, coordinates, and leads safe and educational excursions, leading programs at various educational venues in the GTA.
  • Researches and develops innovative approaches to the delivery of programming, refines and enhances existing education lessons and programs that support TRCA strategic plan, corporate objectives and aligns with Municipal service areas.
  • Collaborates with TRCA divisions, municipal and provincial governments to address education inquiries, complaints, needs, requests and partnership opportunities.
  • Provides support to marketing initiatives for TRCA, including developing content for marketing materials and initiatives as well as attending various TRCA events and festivals.
  • Develops risk management plans identifying hazards and actions for mitigation.
  • Mentors and assist staff and teacher candidate training, including co-op students and seasonal staff.
  • Leads by example in ensuring that staff/volunteers/contractors, as applicable, comply with health & safety policies, and other TRCA policies and legislation.
