This is an incredible opportunity for individuals passionate about teaching and eager to gain hands-on experience in an alternative provision setting. Teachers are required to teach online via Teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience of teaching online, using Teams.
  • Strong foundational knowledge in English, Maths, Science and/or PHSE.
  • Ability to effectively teach and engage pupils in various subjects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of teaching subject concepts and their application in educational settings
  • Willingness to learn and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs
  • Relevant certifications or coursework in education are a plus

Responsibilities
  • Planning and Preparation:
    o Assist in the development of comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and objectives.
    o Prepare engaging instructional materials and resources under the guidance of experienced teachers.

o Learn and apply different teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of pupils.

  • Instruction and Assessment:

o Support the delivery of high-quality, interactive lessons that foster pupil engagement and learning.
o Assist in assessing and evaluating pupils’ progress through assignments, exams, and other assessment tools.

o Provide feedback to pupils under the supervision of a learning mentor/curriculum co-ordinator.

  • Behaviour Management:

o Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
o Assist in managing classroom behaviour in accordance with school policies.

o Learn and implement strategies to support pupil behaviour and well-being.

  • Collaboration and Communication:

o Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and deliver cross-curricular projects and activities.
o Communicate effectively with pupils, admin team and other stakeholders regarding pupil progress and concerns.

o Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and other school activities.

  • Pupil Support:

o Provide additional support to pupils through one-on-one or small group sessions as needed.
o Monitor and support the overall well-being of pupils, addressing any academic or personal challenges they may face under supervision.
