ABOUT YOU

We are seeking a highly organised administrator, capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling data and written communications. The successful candidate will have proven experience in administrative work, ideally within a higher education or similarly complex environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to engage professionally and sensitively with students and staff. You will be confident using standard office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and willing to learn new systems as needed. The role requires someone who can work both independently and collaboratively, using initiative and sound judgement. A flexible and proactive approach to work is important, as is a strong commitment to delivering high-quality service. An understanding of confidentiality and data protection principles is essential, along with a clear commitment to inclusivity and to supporting a diverse student and staff community.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Undergraduate Teaching Administrator to join the Teaching and Learning team supporting the delivery of undergraduate programmes. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of teaching and learning activities, particularly in response to the growing number of Year 1 students. The postholder will report to the Senior Teaching and Learning Administrator and be part of a supportive team managed by the Teaching and Learning Manager. They will work closely with academic staff, students, and professional services colleagues to provide high-quality administrative support and contribute to the continuous improvement of our student experience.

The successful candidate will:

  • Act as a first point of contact for undergraduate students, responding to queries and signposting to appropriate services.
  • Provide administrative support for the delivery of undergraduate teaching, including student communications and assessment processes, and supporting students with the selection of their optional Year 2 modules, as well as managing timetabling tasks.
  • Monitor student engagement and attendance.
  • Support the organisation and servicing of teaching-related committees, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on actions.
  • Maintain accurate student records and ensure data is kept up to date on relevant systems (e.g. student records systems, VLE).
  • Assist with the coordination of coursework submissions, exam preparation, and the processing of marks in line with university regulations.

This is a fixed term role for 12 months in the first instance.
Salary is £36,433 - £41,833 per annum including London allowance.
