  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and work closely and intensively with senior lecturers, programme director, institute management and other relevant stakeholders;

Responsibilities

The teaching and learning coordinator is responsible for the development and coordination of the academic and professional skills training and assessment throughout the first year of the bachelor’s program Security Studies (BaSS) and the first year of the Dutch-taught bachelor’s program Cybersecurity and Cybercrime (BaCC). This entails ensuring a good didactic and pedagogical operation of the skills labs that underpin the bachelor programmes, as well as responsibility for coordinating the education that takes place in tutor teams, for guiding tutors in their educational tasks, and for coordinating skills education with lecturers in the programmes.

The teaching and learning coordinator has the following key tasks:

  • Monitoring and evaluating the academic and professional skills development of students (learning outcomes, content, assignments and assessment), in close cooperation with programme management, academic staff involved and tutors;
  • Ensuring delivery of high-quality education within the programmes with a specific focus on the Bachelor programmes’ workgroups also known as ‘skills labs’ (including advising and giving instruction on assessments, methods of teaching, content, work arrangements etc.);
  • Advise on curriculum development and education policies;
  • Fostering an innovative teaching and learning environment;
  • Cooperation with the tutor manager, the programme directors, director of education, study coordinators, study advisors to facilitate student learning;
  • Quality control and managing the teaching schedules for the tutors in the skills labs;
  • Assist in coordinating the training and development of tutors (formal initial training weeks + course trainings), as well as on the job pedagogical coaching of tutors;
  • Contributing to the process of recruitment of new tutors.
