Are you passionate about empowering educators and driving student success? We’re seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Teaching and Learning Guidance Lead to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping high-quality teaching and learning practices across our school.

THE ROLE / TE MAHI

Reporting to the Director of Education Services, this permanent part-time (0.6FTE) position is key to guiding teaching and learning practices and fostering a strong professional culture. With no direct reports, your influence will come through collaboration, coaching and system leadership.
You’ll work closely with middle leaders, providing expert guidance on teacher observations, feedback and reflective practice. Your role will be central in ensuring rigor, consistency and accountability across school systems and in lifting both staff capability and student achievement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / NGA KAWENGA MATUA

• Provide expert teaching and learning guidance and support.
• Build and sustain strong professional relationships to foster a culture of trust and continuous learning.
• Identify challenges in teaching and learning, and co-design responsive solutions.
• Design and implement professional growth and development plans for teachers.
• Coach middle leaders to strengthen their skills in observations and courageous conversations.
• Develop systems and processes that promote robust teacher performance and growth.
• Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to identify key areas for improvement and align leadership capacity accordingly.
