TEACHING ASSISTANT – MAINSTREAM & SEND UNIT

Location: Hayes, London
Start Date: September 2025Salary: £85-£95 PAYE (No umbrella – take full advantage of your tax-free allowance)
Hours: 38.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant mainstream primary school in Hayes, which also has a specialist SEND unit. The role will involve supporting pupils across the school, including those with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and other learning differences.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience supporting children in a school or SEND setting
• Understanding of autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and other SEND
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Patience, empathy, and adaptability
• Relevant TA/SEND training or willingness to learn

• Provide 1:1 and small group support in class and within the SEND unit
• Assist in implementing individual learning and support plans
• Promote inclusion and help pupils engage in the wider school community
• Support pupils’ social, emotional and communication development
• Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals
