Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Gallery Coordinator with coordinating logistics for professional and student art shows, including artist communications and delivery schedules
  • Support the installation and de-installation of artwork across the three campus galleries
  • Work with staff, volunteers, and students to help properly handle, mount, label and display artwork under the direction of the Gallery Coordinator
  • Assist in promoting exhibitions by preparing content for college websites, social media, newsletters, and local community
  • Collaborate with the college marketing department to design and produce promotional materials, including posters, postcards, and digital graphics
  • Support the organization of the annual student art show by assisting with artwork intake, setup, promotion, and presentation
  • Work directly with students and faculty to facilitate participation and ensure their work is properly prepared for exhibition
  • Help track expenses related to exhibitions and events by organizing receipts and supply lists
  • Assist the Gallery Coordinator in coordinating resource needs and preparing requests for funding or support when necessary
  • Support daily gallery operations by helping maintain clean, organized, and accessible gallery spaces (storage spaces included)
  • Patch and paint gallery walls, replace lighting as needed, and maintain exhibition spaces for a clean, professional presentation

Additional Information
This is a part-time, temporary/seasonal position. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis to establish an applicant pool. As vacancies occur, they are filled from the pool.
Compensation:
$17.20 an hour
