TEACHING ASSISTANT

Fixed term contract for 12 months
(with the possibility of being extended dependent on funding outcomes)

We are seeking to appoint a teaching assistant who will work in a designated class team, but willing to work across all classes ranging from Nursery to Year 6 as directed and needed. This will involve support for the teacher and children in class, 1:1 intervention with relevant children, SEND work and small group intervention and support sessions as requested by the class teacher.
We are seeking to appoint a flexible team player who is prepared to support the class teacher, other colleagues and children. You will need to be well motivated, tenacious and be confident enough to use your own initiative when the need arises. In addition, you must have high expectations, alongside a desire to support and nurture children to best meet their developmental needs. You will be expected to uphold all the school policies and procedures, paying particular attention to the positive behaviour and relationships policy.

Applicants must have:

  • evidence of relevant Level 3 qualification (or evidence of working towards this)
  • relevant experience working with school-age children (EYFS/primary)
  • excellent communication skills
  • a minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Maths (and show evidence of this)
  • a positive attitude and a desire to work as a member of a fantastic team.
