Post 1 Teaching Assistant- Permanent Term Time – 31hrs 15 mins (6hrs 15mins daily)
Post 2 Teaching Assistant 2 days - Permanent Term Time – 12hrs 30 mins(6hrs 15 mins daily)
Shawlands Primary School is a welcoming, friendly and forward-thinking school, situated near to the town centre of Barnsley, which serves a diverse and very supportive community. Our pupils are enthusiastic to learn from our broad and creative curriculum, and staff enjoy working together to achieve the best for all children. Shawlands works in collaboration with other local town centre schools, enabling the sharing of good practice, and was rated Good by Ofsted at our last inspection in 2024.
We are looking to appoint two experienced, enthusiastic, caring and flexible teaching assistants to support and motivate children and to be part of our school. Both post will require the successful candidate to be flexible and have the ability to support children (1 to 1) with SEN as well as small group work.

Applicants must:

  • have excellent interpersonal skills with pupils, staff and parents
  • enthuse and inspire children to achieve their best in all lessons
  • contribute to a dynamic and hardworking team
  • have recent experience of working in a teaching assistant role
  • have relevant qualifications for the post
  • have ability to assist the teacher with a range of learning activities and support pupils in their learning, as directed
  • have experience and knowledge of working with children with SENs
