Faculty teaching the lab and/or directing the research Pay Rate (Check One) x Standard Hourly Rate Supervisory/Special Skills Hourly Rate Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position): Students work with Biology Department Faculty to prepare for labs. Students also assist Faculty and students during lab sessions. Transferable Skills: Communication Human Relations Problem Solving Motivation/Leadership Essential Work Skills Research/Quantitative Organization/Planning Technical Duties and Responsibilities: Help prepare lab session materials Assist students during lab sessions Clean and organize lab Correct lab manuals/classroom work Safely dispose of lab waste using autoclave Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills) Successful completion of the lab student is assisting Dependable and punctual Experience with lab solution/reagent making Experience with a diverse array of lab equipment Able to work with minimal supervision Knowledge of lab safety procedures Wage Range: $11.75-12.75 This job description is for general information purposes. Key duties also include maintaining cleanliness, organizing the lab, correcting manuals, and safely disposing of lab waste using an autoclave.
