About the role
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and committed Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school community in Hungerford. Led by an amazing Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a nurturing and inclusive environment where both staff and pupils thrive.
This role will involve providing 1:1 support to a Reception pupil with Down syndrome, working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to ensure they are fully supported in their learning and development.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing 1:1 support to a pupil, ensuring safety, engagement, and well-being
  • Supporting learning activities and adapting tasks to meet individual needs
  • Encouraging independence, communication, and social development
  • Implementing IEPs and behaviour strategies under teacher/SENCO guidance
  • Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate records
  • Supporting participation in whole-class activities, routines, and playtimes
  • Assisting with personal care when required, in a respectful and sensitive manner
  • Working collaboratively with staff, parents/carers, and external agencies
