Description

LANGUAGE CENTRE Teaching Assistant (English Section) (26270036) The appointee is expected to assist the English Section in: (i) developing supplementary teaching and learning materials; (ii) providing support to new and existing English language enhancement activities; (iii) assisting lecturers in teaching; and (iv) performing other duties as assigned by the Head of the English Section and the Head of the Language Centre. Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree in Applied Linguistics/Linguistics, English, TESOL or Language Studies and a master’s degree in a related discipline with native/native-like proficiency in English. Experience in designing English language learning materials, organising and promoting language enhancement activities (e.g., designing posters and making videos), as well as analysing activity/course outcomes are required. The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of one to two years commencing September 2026. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
