New Directions is currently recruiting passionate and proactive Teaching Assistants to join our supply pool, working in Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) and alternative provisions across Flintshire
PRUs support children and young people who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education, often due to behavioural or emotional needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference while gaining valuable experience across diverse settings.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with behavioural, social, or emotional needs
  • Assist teaching staff with behaviour management and classroom support
  • Help create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment
  • Support pupils in accessing learning and developing life skills
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, and external professionals

About You:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour (in education, care, or youth work)
  • Strong interpersonal and de-escalation skills
  • Calm, patient, and adaptable approach
  • Willingness to travel to different schools across the region
  • Team Teach or other behaviour management training is a plus (but not essential)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willing to apply for one
