Position Summary:
The TAs will work closely with the instructor to respond to students’ needs and concerns throughout the course, and to assess students’ work.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend all lectures.
  • Attend and participate in weekly 1-hr course meetings with teaching team.
  • Discuss the topics and materials for course with instructor.
  • Complete course readings in order to participate in weekly lectures.
  • Respond to students’ questions (including emails) pertaining to course material and assessment.
  • Correct student assessments in a timely fashion in collaboration with instructor.
  • Accountable for professional, timely, and confidential use and accurate entry of student marks in the FSCI 500 Grade Book in myCourses.

Qualifications:

  • Strong candidates will have experience with engaging the public with science. These experiences may include crafting science communication texts or podcasts, leading or facilitating science outreach activities, policy interventions, developing science-related curricula or other related activities.
  • Completed undergraduate degree in science, education, arts, or other related field.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and excellent communication skills.
