The RoleAs an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide high-quality 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum and feel confident within the classroom.You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team to ensure pupils receive the consistent and individualised support they need.The successful candidate will be someone who can build trust quickly, remain calm and patient, and understand that every child has different needs and ways of learning.
- We’re Looking ForWe are keen to hear from candidates who have genuine and substantial experience supporting children with SEN.The ideal candidate will have:Strong previous experience working with children with special educational needs
- Experience providing 1:1 and/or small-group support
- A good understanding of needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties and learning difficulties
- The ability to adapt activities and communication to meet individual needs
- A patient, nurturing and emotionally intelligent approach
- The confidence to support pupils who may display challenging or dysregulated behaviour
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- A proactive attitude and willingness to work closely with teachers and the SEN team
- A genuine passion for helping children progress, develop independence and reach their potential
