Post End Date: July 13, 2026 at 11:59 PM This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) Compensation Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds. Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $23.30 per hour. (Rate effective September 1, 2026) Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $36.67 per hour. (Rate effective September 1, 2026) In cases where additional duties are required as part of a Teaching Assistant’s duties, these hours shall be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. Duties The duties and responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant shall be in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement. These are made up of scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (including preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration as may be required. Qualifications • Completion of at least 3 years in a BEng program in Mechanical Engineering • Minimum overall GPA of 75% or higher • Focus in Manufacturing within Mechanical Engineering • Strong understanding of Finite Element Method (FEM) and simulation techniques • Experience with DEFORM software is considered an asset • Previous TA or instructional experience is considered an asset Applications Please include a cover letter and a current resume. Responsibilities

The Teaching Assistant is responsible for scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom duties. This includes preparing seminar materials, marking, grading, proctoring exams, and holding office hours.
