We have an long term contract position for a Teaching Assistant in Pendleton, IN Please review the job description below and let me know -  Position Title: Teaching Assistant Location: Pendleton, IN Interview Process: In-person only Position Type: Contract We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support classroom instruction within a juvenile correctional education setting. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about education, structure, and positively impacting students’ academic growth. Key Responsibilities: • Supervise students in the classroom in the absence of the teacher • Take attendance and monitor student behavior and assignments • Support students with completing lesson plans and daily work • Maintain daily records and written reports in compliance with policy • Collaborate with educational staff and multidisciplinary teams • Uphold confidentiality and safety procedures at all times • Participate in required training, meetings, and certifications Qualifications & Skills: • Ability to implement teacher lesson plans independently • Strong classroom management and communication skills • Ability to create a positive, structured learning environment • Team-oriented with openness to supervision and feedback • Must pass drug screening and required background checks This position reports directly to the School Principal and plays a critical role in supporting student success through consistency, structure, and encouragement.
