The role of Teaching Assistant includes facilitating learning within the classroom as well as developing independence skills, turn taking and emotional resilience. This may involve providing support with physical disabilities, social emotional needs and learning needs, and will involve working in small groups or on a 1:1 basis.
Teaching Assistants work across all primary key stages from Pre-school through to Year 6, including the Communication and Interaction Inclusion Centre.
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant with excellent communication literacy, and numeracy skills to work across our school, mainly within our Inclusion Centre. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children with complex learning needs and challenging behaviour.
This is a term time only position working Monday to Friday, 08:30 -15:30 with a 30 minute unpaid break.

Responsibilities
  • To work alongside colleagues and class teachers to provide support to children
  • Provide practical advice and support to the children, particularly in respect of planning and resources and where necessary provide emotional support and encouragement to enable the child to achieve the targets set
  • To provide support for pupils, the teacher, and the school in order to raise standards of achievement for all
  • To encourage pupils to become independent learners, to provide support for their welfare, and to support the inclusion of pupils in all aspects of school life
