Gibside School is rated Outstanding by Ofsted. Staff, parents, and governors all work in partnership to ensure pupils thrive socially, emotionally, and educationally during their time with us. We work with around 200 children, aged 3 to 11 from across the whole borough of Gateshead. The children have a wide range of needs including autistic spectrum condition (ASC), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and severe learning difficulties (SLD). Our aim is to inspire, motivate and challenge all our children and to build confident, cooperative, independent learners. We moved into a brand new, state-of-the-art school building in 2021 which provides the excellent learning facilities our children so deserve.
We are currently looking to appoint 3 highly motivated and reliable Level 3 Teaching Assistants. You should have experience and knowledge of those approaches which are successful when working with children with a range of Special Educational Needs. Other skills required include good communication skills, a flexible approach and the ability to work with multi-disciplinary colleagues, parents and carers. Previous applicants need not apply.
A school prospectus and further information can be found at our website www.gibsideschool.org and via our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/GibsideSchool). Shortlisting and interviews are planned for w/c 7th July 2025.
If you are successful, you will have to apply for an enhanced Disclosure. This post may require a declaration under the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2009.
