Salary: TA: £13.47 per hour/ MDSA: £12.65 per hour                                       Hours of work: 8:30 - 15:15 Monday - Friday Term Time Only. 5.15 hours per day (Teaching Assistant) + 1 hour per day (MDSA), Full-time, Term-time only Contract type: Fixed Term until July 2026   A bit about us Frogwell Primary School is a caring and highly inclusive one form entry mainstream school with a supportive and welcoming staff team. All about the role Frogwell Primary School is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with MDSA duties to join our supportive and inclusive team. This is a classroom-based role, working closely with teachers to support pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and inclusion across the school. About the Role You will work with pupils individually, in small groups, and as part of the wider class to support learning in literacy, numeracy, and social development. The role includes supporting pupils with additional needs, promoting positive behaviour, and contributing to a safe, nurturing learning environment. Lunchtime supervision duties form part of the role. The Ideal Candidate Will: * Have experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a school or early years setting * Demonstrate good literacy and numeracy skills, with clear spoken and written English * Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities * Be confident supporting pupils with a range of learning, emotional, physical, or medical needs * Be able to motivate pupils, manage behaviour positively, and provide constructive feedback * Be well organised, punctual, and confident using basic IT systems * Work effectively as part of a team and communicate sensitively with parents and colleagues * Be enthusiastic, resilient, and a positive role model for pupils Desirable (but not essential): * A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification * GCSE English and Maths at Grade A*–C (or equivalent) * Experience supporting pupils with SEN or in EYFS * Knowledge of Makaton or de-escalation strategies * Experience contributing to Individual Education Plans (IEPs) * Evidence of relevant professional development Why Join Frogwell Primary School? * A caring, inclusive school community * A supportive and professional staff team * Opportunities for training and professional development Frogwell Primary School is an exciting place to work, with a clear vision, strong values, and a commitment to enabling every child to thrive.
