• SEMH Teaching Assistant – High Peak SchoolLocation: StockportContract: Full-time, PermanentHours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:30pmStart Date: ASAPAbout the RoleWe are looking for Psychology graduates and experienced SEMH Teaching Assistants to join a specialist SEMH school in Stockport.You will support children and young people with a range of SEMH needs, including anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation difficulties and challenging behaviour.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide 1:1 and small-group support.
• Build positive relationships with pupils.
• Support behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement.
• Assist with classroom activities and personalised learning.
• Follow individual behaviour and support plans.
• Encourage pupils' confidence, independence and social development.
• Work closely with teachers and the wider school team.
• The Ideal CandidatePsychology graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Previous experience working with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviour is desirable.
• Patient, resilient and consistent approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Passionate about supporting young people.
• Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
