Department of Cultural and Religious Studies Teaching Assistant (Ref. 260000RV) Closing Date: May 26, 2026 CUHK’s MA in Intercultural Studies Programme is seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant for the academic year 2026–27. Applicants should have (i) a Master’s degree in cultural studies or a related field; (ii) at least 1-2 years’ work experience, including experience in organizing and promoting online and offline talks, workshops, and activities; (iii) possess proficient language ability (including Cantonese, Putonghua and English) and good communication skills; and (iv) the ability to work independently. Preference will be given to candidates with a good understanding of the MA Programme’s operations and familiarity with course content in film and digital media, gender and queer studies, critical discourse analysis, decolonization, and ecocriticism. The appointee will assist in (a) course preparations and tutorials (4 courses per term); (b) holding consultation sessions for students’ papers, presentations, and course-related inquiries; (c) acting as a liaison between students and faculty; (d) managing and promoting programme activities, field trips, and events; and (e) other tasks as assigned by the Programme Director. Appointment will initially be made on a contract basis for one year commencing August/September 2026, renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement.
Responsibilities
The appointee will support course preparations, conduct tutorials, and hold consultation sessions for students. Additionally, they will act as a liaison between students and faculty while managing programme activities and events.
