TEACHING ASSISTANT

  • Location: Brent, NW London
  • Hours: Full-time, 8:30am - 4:00pm
  • Pay: £2080-£2100 per month
  • Start Date: ASAP
    Are you a dedicated individual who thrives on supporting children’s growth, learning, and confidence? We are looking for committed teaching assistants to work in either Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 in a welcoming two‑form entry primary school.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Classroom experience as a teaching assistant is preferable-but not essential.
  • Calm, reliable, and professional in all interactions with children and adults.
  • A strong understanding of inclusive practices, safeguarding, and behaviour management.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, flexible approach.
  • Familiarity with the national curriculum and early years’ frameworks is desirable.

    Veritas Education work with a variety of schools covering a wide geographical area. We deal with teaching placements at Primary, Secondary and college level as well as support staff positions also within these.
Responsibilities

As a teaching assistant, you will:

  • Foster firm, reliable, and consistent relationships with pupils to help them feel settled and confident within our school community.
  • Use appropriate strategies to support pupils’ learning and language development, including through play, conversation, and structured interventions.
  • Apply praise and constructive feedback to maintain pupils’ interest in learning activities, helping build self-esteem, motivation, and personal and social skills.
  • Promote awareness and respect for each child-regardless of religion, culture, gender, or ability.
  • Plan, deliver, monitor, and evaluate interventions (e.g., speech and language, literacy, maths), liaising with SENCos, therapists, and other specialists to promote pupil progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress toward targets and attend review meetings to ensure tailored support.
