The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at The Aga Khan University is a dynamic academic center which serves the diagnostic needs of the country through its clinical laboratory services that spreads across Pakistan. AKUH’s Clinical Laboratory is College of American Pathologists (CAP) accredited and caters to the need of the entire country through its tertiary lab at the main campus and 300+ specimen collection units and 13 stat labs across Pakistan. The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine consists of five major sections namely Chemical Pathology, Haematology, Histopathology, Microbiology, and Molecular Pathology. Each section is academically driven and is highly engaged in research and undergraduate, postgraduate teaching and training. Aga Khan University invites application for the position of Teaching Associate in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine. This is a short term contractual position. Responsibilities: You will be responsible for: Contribute to the teaching of MBBS students according to responsibilities assigned by the Chair and Vice Chair Education or their delegate. Act as facilitator for PBL/TBL/CBIL, laboratory sessions and small group tutorial sessions. Invigilation related to module and summative exams. Participate in refinement of the curriculum and its assessment methods. Prepare and review cases and MCQs developed according to the UG and PG curriculum objectives. Be a member of departmental question review committee and assist in mapping of questions according to TOS. Provide academic counselling and support for UGME students. Actively participate in marking formative assessments. Participate in departmental research. Invigilation of student examinations and participation in viva voce examination process. Assist in sample collection and medical handling of research subjects, as required by the departmental objectives. Any other duty/task assigned by the Department Chair/vice Chair, Education Requirements: You should have: Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) 1-2 years of relevant experience or elective training during studies Sound academic record and interest in basic sciences teaching. Can lead and facilitate learning by a group of MBBS students. Cooperative and can get along well with students and fellow colleagues. Can effectively communicate. Has excellent computer skills.
