__________ DEPARTMENT OF MEDICINE | TE TARI WHAIORA UNIVERSITY OF OTAGO | ŌTĀKOU WHAKAIHU WAKA Mō te tīma/About our team The Department of Medicine (Dunedin) is a major academic department within the Faculty of Medicine. In addition to teaching undergraduate medical students, we offer world-class postgraduate education and research opportunities to medical professionals, PhD and masters' students. Te mahi/The role The Department has an exciting opportunity for a permanent part-time position as a Teaching Fellow in Ambulatory Medicine. This role will be responsible for convening the ambulatory medicine component of the Advanced Learning in Medicine (ALM) 4/5 Medicine teaching programme. Key responsibilities in this role include: • Coordinate and lead the Ambulatory Medicine ALM4/5 teaching programme, including curriculum alignment, teaching logistics, and tutor engagement. • Deliver teaching across lectures, clinical skills, simulated patient sessions, and support teaching staff as needed. • Participate in student assessment, and related marking and examiner coordination. • Maintain and update course materials and online resources, including Moodle content, workbooks, and teaching documentation. • Contribute to programme improvement, including module evaluations, student reflections, and team meetings. • Contribute to teaching within the Early Learning in Medicine (ELM) programme. This would include MBChB or equivalent degree. • Have a proven teaching record and a passion for teaching. • Have flexibility in their availability depending on the stage of the academic year. • Provide evidence of an ability to work well with students and staff from differing academic and cultural backgrounds. • Commitment to upholding the University’s core values related to support and success of Māori and Pacific students, aligned with the University’s Māori Strategic Framework and Pacific Strategic Framework. Pūroko/Further details This is a permanent part-time (0.4 FTE) position, based in Ōtepoti, Dunedin. The hours of work may be negotiable with the successful candidate. You must have the right to live and work in New Zealand to apply for this position. The salary range for this position is $80,589 to $105,898. The successful candidate will be appointed to an appropriate step on the Teaching Fellow scale based on qualifications, skills and experience. As a part-time position, the salary range for this role will be the pro-rata equivalent of the annual full-time salary range.
