Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Teaching Laboratories Technician role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join the teaching laboratories team in the Faculty Education Office (Medicine).
This role requires strong communication and organisation skills, good working knowledge of Health & Safety and technical experience for the setup, testing and troubleshooting of lab equipment. The successful candidate will work alongside other technical and teaching staff to support the successful delivery of teaching across a range of the Faculty of Medicine’s world-leading programmes.

WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING

You will be responsible for assisting the Teaching Laboratories Manager and technician team in the planning and delivery of all aspects of laboratory operations on Imperial’s Hammersmith campus. Working closely with the Teaching Laboratories Manager and Technicians, Course Leaders and the Teaching Facilities Manager, you will assist in the provision of technical support for both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and ensure the laboratories are appropriately stocked and prepared.
The post will mainly be based at the Hammersmith Campus but may be asked to contribute to support at the South Kensington or Charing Cross Campuses, working closely with the lab technicians based there, preparing laboratories for Team-Based Learning (TBL) or Clinical Skills sessions as required.
