Teaching Professor, Department of Economics The John Chambers College of Business & Economics, West Virginia University, located in Morgantown, WV, is seeking qualified applicants for a Teaching Professor position primarily focused on teaching introductory courses in Economics. The position is a full-time (1.00 FTE), non-tenure-track, 9-month appointment beginning in August 2026. Primary Responsibilities Teaching (80%25): Teach eight courses annually, primarily in Economics, though other undergraduate or graduate courses may be assigned based upon departmental needs. Develop and deliver engaging, innovative, and effective teaching strategies to enhance student learning and success. Serve as a key faculty resource for first-year students, fostering their academic and professional development. Service (20%25): Lead and participate in initiatives aimed at improving student retention and supporting probationary students. Collaborate with academic advising and retention teams to design and implement programming that enhances the success and persistence of undergraduate students. Contribute to department, college, and university service activities that align with the college’s mission to support student success. A PhD degree in Economics. Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the collegiate level. A strong commitment to student success, academic engagement, and innovative teaching practices.
