PolyPhotonix is a well-established and growing business specialising in bio-photonic research and development that designs, develops and manufactures non-invasive photonics based medical devices.
The company has developed the Noctura 400 Sleep Mask, a light based, monitored ophthalmic treatment for Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) and Diabetic Macular Oedema (DMO), which are the principal causes of blindness.
As the company is growing rapidly, we have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our company as Team Administrator.
This permanent and fulltime role is ideally suited to a team player with a background in customer services, general administration, and good knowledge of Microsoft packages, particularly Microsoft Excel.
This role requires a proactive individual who can manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a high standard of professionalism.
Experience in patient care and/or medical terminology is desired but not essential.
This role has considerable potential for development for the right candidate.
Due to the nature of the job, the role is office based in Sedgefield, County Durham, fulltime Monday to Thursday 9am to 5.30pm, Friday 9am to 5pm.

Key responsibilities:

  • Communicate professionally and effectively by email and telephone and ensure enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Answer the enquiries phone line in a friendly manner and direct calls to the relevant team member if required within agreed timescales.
  • Monitor central mailboxes and respond in a professional manner or direct to the relevant team member within agreed timescales.
  • Assist with clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, printing and scanning documents.
  • Work as an integral member of the clinical services team to ensure a high level of customer service throughout the entire order and supply process.
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate records in both digital and physical formats.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Proven experience as an administrator or relevant role.
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Professional telephone manner.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Enjoys working in a team environment and share information freely.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Packages to intermediate level (Word, Power Point and Excel spreadsheets).
  • Self-starter with strong personal motivation and flexible attitude.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.

Skills and experience preferred but not essential:

  • Experience working within a healthcare environment.
