Do you want to be part of an exciting new team? Do you want to improve the lives of families in East Sussex? If so, then you might want to become a Team Around the Family Coordinator. East Sussex County Council is recruiting into a new team that will be building relationships with community and educational organisations to support families.
We have roles in Sidley and Hailsham.
As a Team Around Family (TAF) Coordinator you will support professionals in schools, health and the voluntary and community sector to work with children and families and help to prevent problems escalating.
The role will primarily involve ensuring the right support is put in place at the right time for families, and working alongside professionals to undertake assessments, set up team around the family meetings and put in place the right interventions to stop risk from escalating.

Key tasks of the role include:

  • Focus on co-ordinating delivery packages of support for families with emerging complex needs and support professionals to act as the lead professional to support the family to resolve conflict and prevent family breakdown.
  • Work alongside professionals to conduct assessments, establish teams around families, and ensure the right interventions are implemented to prevent risk escalation.
  • Support partners to deliver a range of evidence based interventions that focus on a range of areas including mental health, substance misuse, domestic abuse, sexual risk and challenging behaviour.

The people we are looking for in this vital position will have:

  • RQF level 4 Certificate or a higher in a subject related to working with children, young people, and families.
  • Experience of working as a keyworker undertaking assessments of risk and delivering evidence based interventions to highly complex families. .

Experience of working with children and families with complex and multiple problems including domestic abuse, drug and alcohol use and mental health issues
