Job Description
As a member of Miltenyi’s R&D department you will be part of our Chemical Biology division and join our unique team that specializes in material sciences and cellular applications. You will work at the intersection of particle Chemistry, Cell Biology and Immunology. Your field of work covers the full range of research and development, from basic research into product development up to technology transfer to the production department. As a team player, you will be involved in interdisciplinary projects and highly collaborative teams.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Designing and defining research tasks as a scientist, with a focus on bead chemistry and its applications in cellular biology.
  • Maintaining communication and timelines as project manager, ensuring smooth coordination between different teams and stakeholders.
  • Guiding and building a team as a leader, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Developing new concepts, innovative technologies and cutting-edge applications that may develop into commercial products and healthcare solutions, particularly in the field of bead chemistry for cell applications.
  • Sharing your results with the core team and other departments and stakeholders within the company, facilitating knowledge transfer and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Building new academic networks through participation in international conferences and scientific publications in international journals with aims to establish academic-industrial grants, collaborations and student mentorship (B.Sc., M.Sc. and PhD).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • You have successfully completed your PhD in chemistry, or a related field and ideally completed a Postdoc in a relevant field. A plus if you already gained some professional experience in the private sector.
  • You are passionate about bridging chemistry and biology together, with a drive towards research, innovation and out-of-the-box thinking.
  • You are excited about new topics, approach challenges with an open mind, and enjoy continuously developing yourself.
  • You have a basic knowledge of particle chemistry. Experience in particle-cell interactions, flow cytometry, cell analysis, cell separation and cell activation are a plus.
  • You are a goal-oriented self-starter, who can push projects forward to success with your proactive commitment in a team but also working independently. Basic project management knowledge is a plus.
  • You have a natural talent for leading others and a passion for building and developing teams, and you are people-oriented.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills complete your profile; German is a plus.
