KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

As Team Lead Automation your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead a small/mid-size Electrical & Automation engineering team.
  • Coach the team to adhere to internal standards.
  • Create work breakdown structures and assign budgets.
  • Deliver quality engineering work to the Project Manager Engineering on time.
  • Manage vendors and subcontractors for timely project contributions.
  • Organize design checks and reviews for quality assurance.
  • Verify technical performance of vendors and subcontractors.
  • Perform technical analysis of offers with the Purchase department.
  • Monitor and control the man-hour budget and report progress.
  • Coordinate technical support or commissioning activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all class and customer requirements.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

To excel as Team Lead Automation, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

  • 5+ years in designing complex electrical & automation systems in shipbuilding, offshore, or maritime sectors.
  • Experience in large, highly complex project environments.
  • Leadership experience with engineering teams (up to 10 people).
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer
  • Engineering, Technical Automation, or related field.
  • Project Management experience with the ability to finalize work packages within deadlines.
  • Familiarity with class-regulated products and Good Engineering Practices.
  • Excellent command of English (written and verbal); German skills are a plus.
  • Excellent references; pre-employment security screening is required.
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport. Candidates with EU work visa or both EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible due to the military nature of our projects.
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As the Team Lead Automation at Damen Naval you will be responsible for the Automation part of engineering within our naval shipbuilding projects. You will be involved in the first (proposal) phase in the project to setup a solid work break down and planning structure for all tasks that belong to the discipline. You will also be leading a small or mid-sized team of (Senior) Automation Engineers during the execution of the project, to deliver the required engineering output. As Team Lead Automation you will be ultimately responsible for the desired quality, timely delivery and reporting to the Project Manager Engineering.
