Description Responsibility & Authority: The Team Lead is responsible for participating in and leading day-to-day warehouse activities. The Lead is also responsible for meeting production goals, setting a positive example for team members at all times and for training and certifying new inspectors, forklift operators and other team members as assigned on the correct processes and work instructions and for understanding and teaching according to Bluegrass’ mission, vision and value standards. The Lead is responsible for ensuring that adequate tools and supplies are on hand and assists the supervisor in monitoring time and attendance. The Lead also works with the supervisor also continually develop, mentor and build meaningful relationships with team members, working to providing positive and corrective feedback where appropriate. The Lead maintains 5S at all times and works with the Supervisor to hold each team member accountable for favorable or unfavorable performance. Requirements Role Overview We are looking for a Team Lead – Forklift Operations to join our team in Findlay, Ohio. In this role, you will oversee and coordinate the daily activities of forklift operators within the warehouse. The Team Lead will ensure efficient operations while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to motivate and mentor team members. The warehouse environment may or may not be climate-controlled. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and direct forklift operators to meet daily operational targets. Safely operate a forklift to move and stack lightweight cans and materials as needed. Monitor and enforce safety protocols and compliance with company standards. Conduct daily inspections of equipment and oversee team adherence to maintenance schedules. Assist with general warehouse tasks and ensure workflow efficiency. Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to forklift operators. Collaborate with the Warehouse Supervisor to address operational challenges and implement improvements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Ensure accurate reporting and tracking of inventory and task completion. Ensure trailers and equipment are safe to enter before loading. Complete correct shipping documentation and system transitions to ensure proper shipment and inventory accuracy. Ensure prompt communication with clients, drivers, and guests Qualifications Minimum 3 years of forklift operation experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role. Valid driver’s license and forklift certification required. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards. Physical ability to lift 50-75 pounds regularly and work in varying temperature conditions. Effective communication skills to interact with team members and management. Proficiency in inventory management systems or willingness to learn.
