Pacifica Treatment Centre (Pacifica), founded in 1977, is an innovative charitable sector society that provides gender-inclusive in-residence treatment and community-based supportive recovery-focused services for individuals experiencing challenges associated with problematic substance use, in conjunction with concurrent mental health concerns and trauma.

Overview:
The Team Lead is responsible for the coordination, delivery, and ongoing development of Pacifica’s Volunteer, Alumni, Continuing Care, and Integrative Wellness Programs. This includes overseeing group programming, supporting long-term recovery pathways, and providing leadership to a multidisciplinary team. The role ensures services are trauma-informed, culturally safe, and aligned with client needs across the full continuum of care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the planning, delivery, and ongoing evaluation of community-based and in-house group programs aligned with client needs and treatment goals including complimentary programming (AA, NA, social/recreational programming).
• Lead the design and facilitation of group sessions covering topics such as trauma, emotional regulation, self-care, mental health literacy, boundaries, and resilience.
• Provide operational oversight of the Volunteer Program, including onboarding, training, scheduling, and engagement, ensuring volunteers are meaningfully integrated into client care and community programming.
• Lead the delivery and expansion of Continuing Care and Alumni Programs, including support groups, post-treatment resources, and re-engagement strategies that promote long-term recovery such as our alumni retreat.
• Support the implementation of Integrative Wellness initiatives, including mind-body programming, expressive therapies, and community connections that foster healing and connection beyond primary treatment.
• Implement quality improvement initiatives in response to client feedback, best practices, and program outcomes.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and clinical oversight to a multidisciplinary team, including group facilitators, peer support workers, volunteers, and interns.
• Support professional development and foster a collaborative, strengths-based team culture.
• Coordinate with case managers, clinical counsellors, medical staff, and administrative teams to support seamless client care.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental group environment for all participants.
• Respond to client escalations or emotional distress during programming using trauma-informed de-escalation techniques.
• Track program outcomes, contribute to internal reporting and evaluation, and assist with documentation and administrative functions.
• Carry out other duties as required to support overall team and program operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred) or similar relevant experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in addictions, mental health, or community programming, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Demonstrated understanding of harm reduction, abstinence-based recovery, and client-centered care.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with ease.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong supervisory, leadership, and team development skills.
• Experience working with diverse populations, including Indigenous communities, LGBTQ2S+ individuals, and people with complex needs.
• Familiarity with harm reduction, abstinence-based recovery models, and strengths-based approaches
• Strong organizational and administrative skills, including budgeting and report writing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• First Aid/CPR and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening.
