REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with coursework in a STEM major or Non-STEM majors with 3+ of analytical work experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in leading analytical teams
  • At least 2 years of experience working in international environment dealing with internal stakeholders. Experience with managing relationships with external customers would be a plus
  • Practical knowledge of SQL is a must. Knowledge of at least one programming language will be beneficial: Python (preferred), R, SAS, or other
  • Clear and concise English communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to work independently and as part of a team while delivering on concurrent projects per schedule.

  • Prior experience working with large structured and unstructured datasets
  • Prior work experience in a data-centric department
  • Knowledge of data management principles
  • BI / Data Visualization Skills is a plus.

Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE TEAM:

The Analytical Data Operations (ADO) division of Verisk’s ISO business is the information refinery for our insurance-industry-experience data stores, ensuring that the country’s largest database of P&C policy and claims information can effectively support the analytical engines underlying the pricing of the US P&C insurance market.
We are a hybrid team of data analysts, data engineers, BI developers, and actuarial-engineers that are responsible for the design and implementation of our core data-systems including data ingestion, data integration, data transformation, data analysis, and BI development.
We are committed to improving the data & analytics platform that support a host of products the US P&C industry relies on.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

  • Managing the analytics team of 3-5 direct reports with minimum supervision
  • Grow and lead a team of analysts especially in context of growing insurance business knowledge for commercial lines (developing, motivating, empowering staff, and providing feedback)
  • Communicate clearly about technical and insurance concepts, to your team, business stakeholders, and Verisk customers
  • Support creating an innovation culture. Promote innovation. Oversee and support the team to envision, design and implement best practices
  • Help staff define and understand their roles, including how they contribute to the team and organizational strategy
  • Understand and take ownership of our business processes, improvements in data management, error identification, quality control, process automation, or analytic techniques.
