Team Lead (L1) - Legal Services - Business Support Team Lead Looking for an opportunity to lead, coach and motivate a team of Business Support Officers (BSOs) to provide quality services to Legal Services and our customers? Encourage innovation and empower your people Permanent role based in Auckland in our Manukau office About us | Mō mātou Inland Revenue plays a critical role in improving the economic and social wellbeing of New Zealanders by collecting and distributing money for the Crown. Legal Services is one of the largest government in-house legal teams and forms an integral part of the ‘Customer and Compliance Services – Business’ unit. The Business Support team provides Legal Services with support for our prosecution, complex civil and debt cases. About the role | Mō te tūnga This is a Team Lead role leading and supporting one of our high performing and busy Legal Services Business Support teams across multiple sites. You will lead a team of BSOs, who play a crucial role in Legal Services supporting our prosecutions, complex civil litigation and debt work. You will work collectively with another Team Lead to support the delivery of this work across the entire Business Support team. Inland Revenue’s current compliance and debt focus has led to a particular demand to support our litigation teams focused on debt work (including liquidations and bankruptcies). You will lead a team that draft court documents to be reviewed by solicitors, liaise with various courts, arrange service of documents on taxpayers via process servers, assist in the preparation of material to be presented in some court hearings, manage physical documents as well as keeping these, and our case management systems up to date. They also track information, making sure the correct process is followed and timeframes adhered to. They are a close-knit team who are able to work together to balance their priorities. As a Team Lead in Legal Services, you will report to Domain Lead Legal Services. The Opportunity | Ara Whiwhi Mahi This is a team leadership role that plays a crucial role for Inland Revenue. You will: Lead, coach and develop your people to deliver quality services, and better customer outcomes. Allocate and manage workloads and capacity cross the team fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring the team continues to deliver to business needs. Support your team to improve customer experience and champion IR’s customer-centric and intelligence led culture. Work collaboratively, with Solicitors, other Legal Services Leaders and internal customers to develop strong positive networks and a “no surprises” approach. Also act as a point of escalation or assistance to support resolution of complex issues. Build business knowledge and be instrumental in investigating ways to provide continuous service improvement. Work with each of your people to ensure their development is proactively planned and managed. Support your team members working with the document management tool that supports our complex civil cases. Remain up to date with technology and trends and use insights and intelligence to make quality decisions.
