This is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in licensing oversight, program development, and industry engagement—all within a team committed to service excellence, integrity, and continuous improvement.
As Team Lead, Licensing, you will supervise a team of specialists who implement Alberta’s Driver Training and Examination Program. This includes licensing and oversight of Driver Examiners, Driving Instructors, and Driver Training Schools. You will serve as the province’s subject matter expert on driver licensing and training, ensuring program standards align with legislation, stakeholder needs, and public safety outcomes. Your leadership will support team cohesion, operational consistency, and the integration of industry insights into continuous program evolution. In this dynamic role, your ability to build relationships, think strategically, and drive collaboration will be essential.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, coaching, and supporting a geographically dispersed team to ensure consistent program delivery and staff development.
  • Overseeing the implementation of Alberta’s Driver Training and Examination Program, including licensing of schools, instructors, and examiners.
  • Monitoring operational performance and program data to identify trends, emerging risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Resolving complex or high-risk licensing issues while ensuring compliance with policy, legislation, and public safety standards.
  • Developing and delivering training sessions and materials for staff, industry stakeholders, and partners.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with industry, government, and community stakeholders to support program goals.
  • Communicating regulatory changes, policy updates, and program standards in clear, accessible ways.
