Your role at St John of God Social Outreach We are looking to recruit a Mental Health Clinician for our Midland service, who is a qualified Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Mental Health Nursing. This role will be offered on a fixed-term basis covering leave for 12 months with possibility of extension. Our team provides a safe and welcoming spaces for locals to walk in and access free mental health support and services - no referral, Medicare card or appointment needed. Staffed by qualified mental health professionals and people with lived experience, the centres provide immediate support to adults in distress, including their families, friends and carers. We can also connect people with other support services, such as employment assistance, to support them in the future. The Position Provides direct services to clients and or carers on an individual or group level Participants in the completion of comprehensive mental health and risk assessment Deliver strengths based mental health support through the delivery of evidence-based practices Undertakes formulation of comprehensive treatment support plans designed to meet a client’s immediate needs Provide consultation and support to other members of the multidisciplinary team as required Actively participate and where appropriate, leads family meetings Participate in multi-disciplinary service approach for clients, including contributing to the ongoing development of service delivery The Successful Candidate will have demonstrated experience within community mental health services as well as demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and skills in the assessment, planning and implementation of community mental health interventions (such as LIPI and DBT/CBT etc.) Applicants must hold the relevant Tertiary qualification in Social Work Occupational Therapy or Nursing and be eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or have current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). This role will require a currently C drivers license, current Working with Children Check and a National Police Clearence.
